Benefits of Therapy

Lots of research has been done on the benefits of therapy – whether it's in person or online. What comes up repeatedly is how useful it can be to form a trusting connection with someone outside your immediate circle of friends and family. Someone who doesn't have any preconceptions or prior judgements about you. Such a relationship can help you look at things through fresh eyes and consider how to change what's not working. Empathy, active listening and positive regard are also at the core of a good therapeutic connection. These qualities have been shown to bring relief and, in time, grow your confidence and sense of worth.

Perhaps you have a difficult decision to make, or have already made one and want to make some sense of it. Perhaps you find yourself in crisis, confused or distressed. Spending time talking about and reflecting on your experience can bring clarity. Therapy can be a challenging process but I believe it can lay foundations for a more satisfying and fulfilled life.
